The Qatar Business e-Visa lets you visit Qatar for short business trips. For example, you can attend meetings, conferences, or trade shows. This visa is strictly for business activities. However, it does not permit paid employment. Several types are available. These include the 72-Hour Business Visa and longer 30-day or 90-day options. Each one has its own rules.
Eligibility Requirements
You must meet certain criteria for a Qatar Business Visa.
- your passport must be valid for six months or more,
- you need a confirmed business purpose for your visit,
- an invitation letter from a Qatari company might be needed,
- in addition, you must have confirmed flights and a place to stay,
- proof of sufficient funds is also required.
Types of Qatar Business Visas
- 72-Hour Business Visa: get this at Hamad International Airport or find it at the Abu Samara border crossing, it is valid for 72 hours, you can extend it once for another 72 hours, the fee is QAR 50,
- 30-Day Business Visa: this visa is valid for 30 days, you can choose a single or multiple-entry visa, it costs QAR 200, a multiple-entry visa can be extended for 60 more days,
- 90-Day Business Visa: Qatari companies issue this visa, government bodies can also issue it, it is valid for three months, the total fee is QAR 600,
- Business Visa for Expatriate Workers: this type allows short-term contract work, a Qatar-based company must sponsor you, it is valid for three months.
Visa Waivers
Citizens from select countries can get a visa waiver.
- 180-Day Validity: this waiver allows multiple entries, you can stay up to 90 days total, it is available for people from Germany, France, and Turkey,
- 30-Day Validity: this option allows a 30-day stay, you can extend it once for another 30 days, this applies to the United States, UK, and Canada.
Required Documents
- a valid passport with at least six months’ validity,
- one recent, passport-sized photograph,
- the completed visa application form,
- an invitation letter if a Qatari firm invited you,
- confirmed hotel or accommodation bookings,
- confirmed flights showing your return ticket,
- a sponsorship letter may be needed,
- proof of funds, like bank statements or cash.
Application Process
- Hayya Portal: you can register online at hayya.qa, upload your documents, then, complete the form and make the fee payment,
- MOI e-Services Portal: apply via the Ministry of Interior (MOI) website, you will need a smart card for this method,
- Unified Services Centre (Offline): you can also apply in person, submit a printed application with all your papers, you must pay the fee there.
Visa Fees (QAR)
- 72-Hour Business Visa: QAR 50,
- 30-Day Business Visa: QAR 200,
- 90-Day Business Visa: QAR 600,
- visa extension: QAR 200 per 30 days.
Visa Extension
Extensions are processed online. Use the MOI e-Services Portal or visit an immigration office.
- 72-Hour Visa: you can extend this one time for 72 hours,
- 30-Day Business Visa: this can be extended for 60 days, this applies only to multiple-entry visas.
Visa on Arrival
You can get a 72-Hour Business Visa when you arrive. This is available at Hamad International Airport. It’s also at the Abu Samara border. However, you must meet all requirements. This includes a valid passport and an invitation letter.
Information for GCC Residents
GCC residents can apply via the Hayya Portal. You need a valid residence permit for at least six months. In addition, you must show proof of a hotel booking. Your profession must be on an approved list.
