e-Visa Qatar

Qatar’s e-Visa is an electronic travel permit. It simplifies entry for tourism or business. You can apply online for this authorization using the official Hayya platform or e-Visa website. However, specific eligibility rules and fees apply.

Eligibility

More than 100 nationalities can enter Qatar visa-free for stays of 30 or 90 days, depending on your passport. If you are not eligible for this, you can apply for an e-Visa. Other options include a Visa on Arrival, and specialized visas are available.

For example, you can get a Tourist Visa (A1), a GCC Resident Visa (A2), or a Visa with ETA (A3). The A2 visa is for GCC residents, and your permit must be valid for at least three months.

Requirements

You must meet specific requirements for your application. These include:

passport validity: your passport must be valid for six months from arrival,
financial stability: show proof of at least 5,000 Qatari Riyal, which is about $1,370 USD,
accommodation: you may need confirmed hotel reservations. Book these through Discover Qatar,
a recent passport-sized photograph for upload,
a credit card to pay the required visa fees.

Processing

You submit your e-Visa application online using the Hayya platform or the official e-Visa website. After you apply, you can track its status using your application or passport number. Check for updates on the MOI portal or Hayya.

Processing times

Standard processing takes around 14 days. However, faster service is available. Expedited processing takes about 5 to 6 days. Some cases are approved in just 3 hours. This quicker service costs more money.

Validity period and Stay duration

An approved Qatar e-Visa is valid for 90 days, starting from its issuance date. It permits a single stay of up to 30 days. Additionally, visa-free entry allows a 30 or 90 day stay, depending on your nationality.

Visa Fees

The cost for a Qatar visa can vary depending on the visa type and your country. Some common fees include:

Tourist Visa (A1): costs approximately QAR 100, which is about $27 USD,
Visa on Arrival for U.S. tourists: the cost for this is $21,
GCC Resident Visa (A2) and Visa with ETA (A3): these fees are usually around QAR 100.
