Sri Lankan citizens who want to visit Qatar must get a visa. You need to apply for the correct type. The right visa depends on your reason for travel. Qatar offers many visa options. Visa Options for Sri Lankan Citizens
Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)

Hayya eVisa

Tourist Visa (A1)
This visa is designed for your vacation. It grants you a 30-day stay. You can get a 30-day extension if needed. However, you cannot work on this visa.
GCC Resident Visa (A2)
Do you live in a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) country? This visa is for you. It is valid for 30 days. You must show proof of your GCC residency.
Visa with ETA (A3)
This visa also uses your existing residency. It’s for those with a valid visa from the US, UK, Canada, or others. It allows a 30-day stay. You complete the application online before you travel.
Visa for Companion of GCC Citizen (A4)
Are you traveling with a GCC citizen? You can apply for this visa. It lasts for 30 days. However, the GCC citizen must travel with you.
Required Documents
- passport validity: your passport must be valid for at least three months after your trip,
- photograph specifications: you need a recent passport-size photo. It must be a JPEG file and meet Hayya standards,
- travel itinerary: provide your confirmed flight and hotel booking. An invitation letter from a host in Qatar also works,
- financial proof: show you can support your stay. A bank statement from the last three months is required. It needs to show at least 5,000 QAR.

- First, visit the official Hayya Portal.
- Create an account or log in to yours.
- Select the correct visa type for your trip.
- Carefully fill out the online application.
- Upload all your required documents. This includes your passport and photo.
- Pay the visa fee securely online. Use a valid credit or debit card.
- Review all details. Then, submit your application.
- Check your email inbox for status updates. Remember to check your spam folder too.
Visa Fees and Processing Time
- Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA): this is free. It is also processed instantly,
- Hayya eVisa & Tourist Visa (A1): these cost QAR 100. Processing takes 1 to 5 business days,
- other visas (A2, A3, A4): the fee and time depend on your case.
Visa Extensions and Overstay Policies
You can extend some visas. For example, the Tourist and Hayya visas allow one 30-day extension. This costs QAR 100. GCC visa terms may be different. Do not overstay your visa. Health Requirements for Travel
