Qatar Visa for Chinese Citizens
Are you a Chinese citizen planning a trip to Qatar? You have several visa options. The right one for you depends on your travel purpose and how long you plan to stay. This guide will clarify your choices. For example, we cover visa-free entry, Hayya Portal visas, and embassy applications.
Visa-Free Entry for Chinese Citizens
Good news for many travelers. Chinese citizens can enter Qatar without a visa. This free entry allows a stay of up to 30 days. It is ideal for tourism, business meetings, and other short visits. However, you must meet certain passport requirements.
Passport Validity Requirement
Your Chinese passport must be valid for three months after you arrive. For a smoother journey, we strongly recommend six months of validity. Airlines often prefer the longer validity period.
Eligibility for Visa-Free Stay
This visa waiver is quite flexible. It applies to holders of ordinary, official, and diplomatic Chinese passports for a 30-day stay.
Hayya A1 Tourist Visa
Planning a longer visit? You should apply for the Hayya A1 Tourist Visa. This is for stays that go beyond the initial 30 days. You can apply online through the Hayya Portal at hayya.qa. The process usually takes five business days. In addition, there is a fee of QAR 100.
Application Requirements
- a passport that is valid for six months,
- your confirmed return flight ticket,
- proof of your accommodation in Qatar,
- a recent digital photograph.
Visa Validity
The Hayya A1 visa grants you a 30-day stay. Need more time? You may request an extension. Visit the Directorate of Passport at Hamad International Airport for help.

This special visa lets you visit two countries. It is valid for 30 days. You may extend it for another 30 days. It gives entry to both Qatar and Oman.

Flying with Qatar Airways? You may get a free transit visa. It is for layovers of 6 to 96 hours at Hamad International Airport. You must have a ticket for your next flight.
